The Journey From Corporate to Startup ft. James Quinn

Last week, Zooni sat down with James Quinn. James is without a doubt one of these students. Through his work with the Queens Finance Association Conference (QFAC) and Limestone Capital, one would reasonably expect James to follow the typical steps taken by those before him and enter the financial services industry. However, James chose a much riskier path. In-pursuit of gaining international experience, James decided to spend the summer after his second year in London, England. With complications erupting prior to his departure, James found himself flying over the Atlantic to one of the most expensive cities in the world, without employment. Confident in his ability to obtain the work experience he was looking for, James hit the ground running, looking for jobs in one of the world’s most unrelenting marketplaces.

Listen-in to hear James’ journey and how he went from bar-backing at a London pub, to working for one of the UK’s fastest growing tech start-ups. James’ story embodies resiliency and has led him to establish his very own start-up Burst Events here in Kingston.
